Years back, I lived in a house in Midtown that had a whole yard of angry stickers that would kill your feet if they found your skin on a barefoot day. This happened quite a bit to me. Why We Do What We Do ..

The other day, my great-grandma in law came over to celebrate my son's Christmas a bit early. During a bit of downtime, my youngest, Miles (5), asked his grandma Lucille to sit down and do some painting. At this urging, the 85-year old Lucille nodded in perplexed, yet content agreement to paint with Miles. As she pondered what to etch, she said that she had never painted anything in her life .. ever. She had never touched a paint brush with paints in her entire life. One of those rare moments of age and coolness in life when you watch with anticipation. Probably the coolest several minutes to see my boy that has been immersed in art his entire life meet his grandma at the proverbial easel as she finally creates her first real painting ..
